Inter Milan gaffer Simone Inzaghi has decided to leave the San Siro side after a crunch meeting with Inter hierarchies which ended few minutes ago.
The 49-year old has accepted a lucrative contract proposal from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, ending his four year union with the Italian side.
It is certain that Inzaghi will switch to the Saudi Pro League on a two-year deal for a fee of €50Million. Como boss Cesc Fabregas may likely emerge as the top contender for the job as Bappe Moratta and his colleagues must speedily work out a replacement suitable for the former Italian Champions.
Simone Inzaghi won a landmark 20th Scudetto and 5 other major titles since he took over from Antonio Conte in 2021. He reached the UEFA Champions League finals twice in five years but was unfortunate, losing to Manchester City and just recently to Paris Saint Germain. PSG thump Inter 5-0 in the finals which arguably resulted to his final straw at the Nerazzuri.
His presumed departure to the Middle East means Inter must recruit a tailored replacement and Cesc Fabregas is leading the pack of contenders. Other options like Roberto de Zerbi is yet another top choice to boss the San Siro giant.
