Victor Osimhen’s recent decision to decline Al Hilal interest could prove to be a significant advantage for Tottenham Hotspur and other Premier League top side. The 26-year old has a £63Million release clause which Al Hilal are willing to meet but the Nigerian has turned down any potential move to the Saudi Pro League.
Osimhen long standing inclination for a move to England was confirmed by his rejection of a transfer to Al Hilal. Though, the Saudi side are keen to engage the Napoli top striker, even after the Club World Cup, but the Nigeria international is currently looking at his options in Europe, with a move to the Premier League.
Osimhen, having spent the previous season on loan at Galatasaray, netted 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, is garnering considerable interest from various club especially top Premier League side. Man United are keen on Osimhen despite having signed Matheus Cunha and close to signing Bryan Mbeuno. Liverpool, who are also looking to sign Alexander Isak, are not relenting on Osimhen as a backup plan if the Isak deal fails. But the goal poacher rejection of a move to the Saudi Pro League is not only a boost for Man united and Liverpool but also a gain for Tottenham Hotspur. According to talkSPORT, Al Hilal could reignite their interest in Richarlison after the snub from Osimhen. Al Hilal has in the January Transfer Window made serious bid to sign the Brazilian but the Spurs striker declined in order to commit himself to a struggling Spurs. With recent development, the Saudi side are hoping to rejuvenate their interest in the Brazilian which Tottenham will see as a boost as they look to sell Richarlison.
A hefty offer from Al Hilal could be on the table to acquire his services, a bargain Spurs is looking to bolster their squad going forward.
Richarlison joined Spurs from Everton in 2022 in a £60Million deal but he couldn’t step up his game to justify his price tag. He managed 11 goals in 28 appearances in his second season after a poor debut season, no thanks to recurring injuries.
Tottenham are hoping to cash in this summer and recoup a significant portion of their investment if they are able to seal a deal with Al Hilal in their quest to sign the Brazilian.
