Manchester City have signed left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Algerian committed his future to City by signing a five year contract lasting until 2030.
During his five year at Wolves, he featured in 135 matches, netting nine goals and registering 11 assists.
”I am incredibly happy and honored to have joined Manchester City”. Ait-Nouri said. He further attest that “City are one of the biggest club in the World and the chance to play for the club is a dream come through. I am excited about working with and learning from Pep and his team and getting to train and play alongside world class group of players “.
According to Man City’s director of football, “Rayan is a player that as a club we have been following closely for quite some time and we are delighted he has joined us. He already has an extensive Premier League experience and has also demonstrated his quality at international level with Algeria”.
After spending time in his childhood club Paris FC, he signed his first professional contract with Ligue 1 side Angers, age 16. He switched to the Premier League to join Wolves after only making 23 appearances for Angers.
Rayan Ait-Nouri wasted no time in making an impression, marking his debut with his first professional goal in a 2-0 home win against Crystal Palace.
The addition of Rayan will intensify competition on the left side of Manchester City’s defense as Pep intends to permanently convert Croatian Josko Gvardiol to a central back after previously playing on the left back in most part of the season.
