
The Brazilian attacking midfielder who plays for Wolves has finally joined the Red Devils for a fee of £62.5 million, his transfer clause triggered by Man United.
On June 1, Manchester United announced that they had reached an agreement for the player pending visa approval and registration formalities.
After initially attempting to negotiate a payment plan spread over four to five years, United agreed to pay the fee over two years. This deal will last until 2030.
Cunha stated in a message released on Thursdays “its hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player”.
”Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favorite English team and I dream of wearing the red shirt. I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream a reality.
”I can’t wait for the start of preseason to get to know my teammates and prepare for the season ahead. All my focus is now on working hard to become a valuable part of the team, and helping get this club back to the top”.
The Brazilian International netted 17 times and contributed six assists for Wolves across all competitions last season.
Mattues Cunha has also in the past, plied his trade for Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig and has 15 caps for Brazil, netting his first goal against Argentina in March.
