Bayer Leverkusen have rejected Liverpool’s £109M bid to land Wirtz in Anfield.
The Bundesliga side is not relenting on a £126M fee for the German top playmaker as this could smash the British transfer record currently held by Chelsea who paid around £115M for Moises Caicedo.
A hundred million pound plus bid was recently launched by the Reds to bring Florian Wirtz to Anfield, a move that is already been anticipated by the 22-year old as both parties has before now agreed on personal terms.
The playmaker preference for Liverpool has made top contenders like Manchester City and Bayern Munich dropped their pursuit to lure Wirtz to their tent.
Leverkusen however are open to the inclusion of two Liverpool players in any future deal. They are attacking midfielder Harvey Elliot and centre-back Jarrell Quansah.
